There are a lot of resources on this page. Very interesting.

Total shift in teaching paradigm-will care the crap out of a lot – some won’t be invested at all because of the amount of work and change it will be…
How do we get rid of those that think that way? Or make them see the value of this…?
Get going with change or get farther and farther behind. Need thinkers not regulators. Kids need more ownership of their learning. Teachers – let go of control.
A large percentage of our staff went “thru the motions” with WTL’s… a huge paradigm shift would be met with resistance. To do a paradigm shift the current “2 hr” every 6 weeks PD model won’t be ineffective. Tech in hands of students…..Funding?
I like his PD ideas. I think ALL kids need computers. We need to inform our parents and Community on these changes in our world.
I need help seeing “what other are doing and how they are doing it” in order to wrap my head around things.
How can I start making classroom higher order everyday? What technology will work best in my classroom for my content that kids will grab onto?
Someone to teach tech to teachers. How to teach not PD. How to release control when students lack some basic skills (reading, writing). $$$ I have 4 computers that all students can’t use.
OMG– we’ve got progress to make. I’d like to see a school that has used the model – (Price Labs). PD is going to be increasingly important.
We need to “do” school very differently. Start with teachers – how to teach concepts. Get tech in hands of student 27/7.
Still need the fundamentals of reading and writing in early years.
Moving the community and teachers in the right directions. Parent education,
Exciting yet scary.
He made the comment about providing “years” of PD to teachers on real world thinking –WOW! How many years is “years”. The websites that he showed us are unreal- I think using some of those now and seeing what is out there would be a positive thing to start with. We have to get devices in the hands of kids ASAP.
What makes up OUR big frickin wall? How quickly can we assess our faculty shortfalls with these concepts and with technology? What is our next step?
How do we teach foundational skills in early elementary in this new way with technology? What should schools look like in 5-10 years? Will parents agree? How and what technology should we be using in our classrooms?
WOW! On Democratizing inventions, charity, etc… It helps you understand. Blurring Lines: exciting for our kids. Change or Die (schools too). Move to Abstract!
How do we incorporate these things into younger classrooms? What will it look like? Higher level of thinking is happening – how can we make it better? Once a few teachers get going and share, others will follow.
Get parents and community on board to do this. Need to get students to dig deeper into their learning. Need long term PD to support and build the staff to get to the deeper thinking teaching. How do we create more time as well?
Need to improve the network structure first! Absolutely need multiple machines on network. How can we differentiate instructions on this model and reach our lowest level learner? Still need to “hold the basement” what is the balance between teaching for knowledge and teaching for creating?
We can create a class today that is competency based that will give us a start towards reshaping our educators.
